My Author Journey
Born in Illinois, Marian L. Thomas wouldn't say that her first career choice was writing novels. She saw herself working for a local newspaper, reporting news in a journalist fashion. In college, she wrote for the college paper as a sports editor but later became the news editor. Marian's writing path took a detour when she drafted her first completed manuscript and called it Color Me Jazzmyne. Today, storytelling is Marian's passion. She has penned six women's fiction novels.
Marian has been featured on television stations such as Fox, NBC, CBS, and in many print and online magazines.
Her latest novel The Caged Butterfly, made its release debut on October 23, 2018, reaching No. #8, on Amazon’s Hot New Releases chart and No. #1, in one of Amazon's Women's Fiction categories. The Caged Butterfly also received the USA Best Book Fiction Award for African-American Fiction in 2018.
Other accolades for Marian include receiving the AALBC Bestseller Award for I Believe In Butterflies, a recommended read and feature on USA Today for Blue Butterfly (which also ranked #2 on the Amazon Bestseller List for its respected category), and for her book "I Believe In Butterflies," Marian ranked among the top 100 Most Popular Authors in Literary Fiction on Amazon. Her next book Someone Like Me is scheduled to release in 2021.
Marian currently resides in Atlanta with her husband. She enjoys a big bowl of popcorn every night and believes that pasta should be a vegetable. Readers can stay connected to Marian through her newsletter and active social media sites.
